Our commitment to the environment extends well beyond our fuel-efficient vehicles. The Green Dealer Program helps Honda dealers reduce the environmental impact of their operations and lower their energy costs. With the Green Dealer Recognition Award, Honda Canada puts the spotlight on dealers who go the extra mile.
WHY IT MATTERS
Buildings account for around 45% of Canadian energy consumption and CO2 emissions, more than any other source.
When it comes to increasing energy efficiency, existing guidelines don’t consider auto dealerships’ showrooms, service centres, car washes, and body shops – all of which consume significant amounts of energy.
That’s why Honda developed an energy reduction program specifically for dealerships. We’re helping our dealers chart a course toward achieving zero net energy use, while also lowering their operating costs.
Murray Honda has been updating our dealership to reduce our environmental footprint. In 2020 we updated our dealership to help achieve our environmental goals. Take a look around and you will see energy-efficient LED lighting, reduction of waste and single-use items in our customer lounge, recycled cups, removal of single-use plastic bags, in-store recycling and waste reduction program, installation of EV chargers at the dealership, and more.

The next generation of fully electric Honda vehicles starts with the 2024 Honda Prologue SUV, which will offer a driving range on par with our current lineup of rugged SUVs.
As a fully electric SUV, the Prologue is powered entirely by its rechargeable battery, which eliminates tailpipe emissions and the need for gas. Every time you drive, you’re effectively reducing your carbon footprint anywhere you go.

At Honda, we have ambitious goals to work towards delivering sustainable technology for a greener tomorrow. We’re proud to have a fleet that emits less CO2 than the industry average.
2030 – 2040 Goal
In 2021, Honda announced key targets for sales of electrified vehicles in North America, with a plan to make battery-electric and fuel cell electric vehicles to represent 100% of its vehicle sales by 2040, progressing from sales of 40% by 2030 to 80% by 2035. To accelerate toward these targets, Honda plans to launch a series of new EV models based on the company’s new e:Architecture, beginning in 2026.
